Description
Louis Murphy, editor of the Dubuque Telegraph-Herald, is seated at his desk reading a newspaper column. Stacks of books, papers and an unidentified machine with a cover on it, occupy all but a small portion of the desktop. Various pictures and photographs, one of which may be of William Jennings Bryan, are pinned to the wall above his desk. A calendar showing the month of June 1912 is pinned to the wall to the right of the door. The number "244" has been written on the emulsion side of the negative and is visible in the upper right corner of the picture. No number is written in the upper left corner.
