Description

The photograph was taken looking across a wooden railing into a two-desk office space. A doorway separates the desks. A barrister's bookcase that appears to contain stacks of forms or cards stands along the wall next to the nearer desk while a large wooden card file stands next to the other desk. A gentleman identified as Harold Rowan is seated at the rear desk. Another man is seated at the front desk. On the wall near the front desk is a map of railroad lines in Iowa. On the same wall, and behind Mr. Rowan, is a poster showing a harvesting machine and tractors and advertising the “Gasoline Tractors” for the “International Harvester Company in America.” The number "103" has been written on the emulsion side of the negative and is visible in the upper right corner of the picture. The number "2" is written in the upper left corner.
