Description
This photograph is of two men sitting at desks in an office. The walls and ceiling are covered with narrow, horizontal and vertical paneling that is finished in a dark stain. Many photographs and calendars are hung on the walls. June 1912 calendars include a monthly one advertising "Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Milwaukee,” an unmarked weekly calendar and another, partially visible, monthly calendar advertising “MILW… VINE… Milwaukee Wis USA.” Hanging above the Northwestern calendar is a framed print of two images of a manufacturing plant. Smoke is clearly visible coming from the smokestacks in the two images. A wall-mounted telephone, with a telephone book dangling from nail or hook on the lower right side of the wooden phone casing, is visible between two windows. Next to desk on the left is a typewriter on a stand and also a bookbinding press. A postage scale is visible on the desk at the right. The number “89” has been written on the emulsion side of the negative and is visible in the upper right corner of the picture. No number is written in the upper left corner.
