No number has been written on the emulsion side of the negative in the upper right corner of the picture. The number “4” has been written in the upper left corner.

Although not positively identified as having been taken at either the Dubuque Brewing and Malting Company or the Dubuque Star Brewing Company, this photograph appears in sequence with others taken at those locations. Another unidentified brewery machine room photograph may be found at KL 155-020.
The original glass plate negative was lost. A silver gelatin print created in the 1970s remains.
