Description

A paddlewheel dredge may be seen removing sand from a narrow channel near a bank of the Mississippi River. Sand is visible pouring out of a pipe which extends from the dredge into the main river channel. A narrow wooden warf, probably constructed for loading and unloading passengers and cargo from boats, is visible on the river side of the dredge.
