Description

The Mississippi River is over its banks in this north-facing image of the Dubuque waterfront. A partially submerged building with a sign reading ”Freight and Ticket Office” is visible in the right side of the image. A smoke stack and warehouses may be seen to the left of the partially submerged building. The railroad bridge between Dubuque and East Dubuque, Illinois is faintly visible in the rear of the image. See image LO 015 for another view of the flooded waterfront. The number 1332 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
