Description

Five elephants, walking one behind another, are visible in this image which was taken in the 1300 block of Clay Street - now Central Avenue. One elephant has a calf walking beside her. Men dressed in dark trousers and shirts, long black boots and white hats with fur plumes are riding on the heads of each of the adult elephants. Signs for Kies Drug Store, Busy Bee Cafe, and Bertsch Shoes are visible in the background. The number 1371 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
