Description

A bearded, elderly man dressed in overhauls and a suit jacket and leaning on a cane, is standing next to an elderly woman. The woman is dressed in a light colored long sleeved dress and is wearing an apron. They are standing in front of a large frame home that has been built into a hillside. One second story window in the home is open, and smoke is visible coming out of the chimney. The two story house is attached via a breezeway to a smaller, one story frame house. A dense stand of trees surrounds the house. The photographer’s notes indicate that this home is “Father Witter’s home on [a] mound.”
