Description
Originally built in 1909 as a packet stern-wheeler, and later converted into the triple decker excursion steamboat shown in this image, the "G. W. Hill" is docked at the Mississippi River landing at Dubuque, Iowa. Members of the crew can be seen working on the deck and ramp. A truck is parked on the sand near the loading ramp. The truck driver may be seen sitting in the cab of the truck. Two oil drums and several wooden crates are stacked between the rear of the truck and the loading ramp. The number 1376 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
