Description

Built in 1857 at a cost of $20,000, this house was the home of Henry L. Stout. In 1984, an auditorium was built, and the home was donated to the Y.M.C.A. A sign reading “Y.M.C.A.” hangs from the second story of the smaller building in the image. A four wheel wagon with an umbrella sun shade is proceeding along the street. A man is crossing the street, and a fire hydrant is visible protruding from the sidewalk. See LO 075 for an image of the "new" Y.M.C.A. building. Cracks in the original glass lantern slide are visible along the left side of the image. The number 1266 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.
